Immutable has signed up to participate in Project F’s Program 50/50 from January 2021. The program will require them to work with us to identify and remove the systemic barriers for women in tech teams and leadership so that they can sustainably build gender-balanced teams. This is an investment in their future sustainability and one we are delighted they are making, as such a young business today.
The work on Program 50/50 is not easy and requires a consistent focus on structural change, removing bias from processes and systems and shifting the narrative on diversity and inclusion. Co-founder James Ferguson is the Executive Sponsor of the program at Immutable. Samantha Weinreich, Head of People & Culture is leading the change and facilitating the program across the company. The unique challenge of achieving gender balance within the subculture of technology has been made a strategic imperative so that Immutable can challenge the status quo in the sector and grow a healthily balanced business.

Gamers spent more than $100 billion on in-game items last year. However, $0 of that went to other players - it mostly went directly to huge free-to-play game studios. Immutable X is non-custodial, meaning users will have complete control over their assets at all times and won't have to place their trust in any central entity to hold and manage their assets for them.
Tech Stack
We don’t need you to know anything about the blockchain: we have in-house experts who can teach you everything you need to know about Ethereum. You also don’t need to know anything about game development! We do need to you be able to work with our pre-existing stack:
Typescript React on the frontend, with strong CSS/SASS skills
On the backend, either Golang or Node.js
A bit about the role
This role is a fantastic opportunity to build an amazing and technically challenging consumer-facing product in a high-growth startup environment. You will be the Lead developer for platform frontend products. This includes all consuming-facing components of our Platform offering, including our marketplace for in-game assets and our wallet for asset ownership. Because this team directly drives user engagement, it is incredibly important within the company, and we’re looking for someone fantastic to fill this role.
You will be an active engineer on the platform team, personally working on features and guiding the rest of the team to make optimal architectural choices. You will perform code reviews and technical design reviews for others, and work to upskill other engineers on the team. You will work with other engineering leaders to make large-scale choices about the future technical strategy of the platform as a whole.
You may be asked to take on people management responsibilities in future, but it is not a core component of the role at the moment.

Building excellently engineered features quickly and efficiently
Creating full-stack technical designs
Reviewing code and technical designs proposed by other team members
Providing architectural leadership to other engineers building platform frontend products
Participating in team planning and product design sessions
Acting as the point of contact for other developers during integrations
A bit about you
You’re experienced in developing websites (the more interactive the better)
You’re an extremely capable frontend (/full stack) developer with strong framework and styling experience, which enable you to create world-class frontend products. You will integrate cutting-edge technology into Immutable’s stack to allow them to remain market leading.
You’re comfortable working across a range of technologies, creating technical designs from scratch and reviewing those produced by other engineers.
You design solutions with a strategic mindset and you understand the underlying business objectives, limitations and risks, and identify the appropriate technical solutions. You balance current speed with future maintainability and composability.
You work collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders to achieve business outcomes and you manage competing priorities, identifying what really matters to both your team and others.
Some management/team lead experience would help but is not essential
Also, if you’ve experience integrating with blockchain dapps that would be great, but again is not necessary
